Conservation Programs Workshop coming this week
The California Rice Commission (CRC) will host a Conservation Programs Workshop to update growers on current conservation programs. This workshop will cover plans for the California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation to implement a new program early in 2020, CRC’s plans to pursue more federal conservation program funding and review the State’s winter flooding program.

Conservation Programs Workshop planned September 5
The California Rice Commission (CRC) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Conservation Programs Workshop to update growers on current conservation opportunities. This workshop will provide information of CRC’s efforts to pursue more Natural Resources Conservation Service funding for annual wildlife practices, the California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation’s new waterbird habitat program starting this spring, as well as an update on California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s winter flooding program.

Californians win Conservation and Sustainability awards at Outlook Conference
For his role stewarding several significant rice wildlife programs, California Rice Commission Environmental Affairs Manager Paul Buttner was honored at today’s USA Rice Outlook Conference in San Diego.
Buttner received the ninth annual Distinguished Conservation Achievement Award, for shepherding many unique conservation programs and fostering strong partnerships that pay significant dividends for the industry.
