BirdReturns Program Alert – Application Deadline July 31

The California Rice Commission (CRC) is pleased to partner with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) on the next phase of a shorebird habitat conservation program called BirdReturns.  We will soon be accepting bids from growers who are interested in providing shorebird habitat in early fall.

TNC’s application process will begin July 17 and end at 5:00 p.m.,Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Interested applicants must apply to the BirdReturns program via the online bid form.

  1. Early Fall Season Shallow Flooding (September-October)
    • Four weeks of continuous shallow flooding in the September-October period

CRC will host a workshop at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 17 at the Bonanza Inn in Yuba City for anyone wanting to learn more details about the BirdReturns program.

Buttner received the ninth annual Distinguished Conservation Achievement Award, for shepherding many unique conservation programs and fostering strong partnerships that pay significant dividends for the industry.
