Rice Leadership Group gets firsthand look at California Rice

A full-day Rice Commission briefing and an up-close look at harvest were part of this week’s California visit for the 2016 Class of the Rice Leadership Development Program.

The class itinerary this week also includes several mill and farm visits, a tour of the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District Pumping Facility and other stops.

Imran H. Khan and Michael Bosworth are California’s representatives in this class.

The Rice Leadership Development Program is sponsored by John Deere Company, RiceTec Inc. and American Commodity Company through The Rice Foundation and is managed by USA Rice.

Meanwhile, the October 7 deadline is rapidly approaching to apply for the 2018 Rice Leadership Development Program. Here’s a link to additional information and to apply.

Mark your calendar for our annual grower meetings, to be held Thursday, January 18, in Yuba City and Colusa.  Information presented with be the same at each venue.

The Yuba City meeting will be held at the Bonanza Inn Event Center, with registration at 8:00 a.m. and the meeting from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. The afternoon meeting will be at the Colusa Casino Resort Conference Center with 12:30 p.m. registration and the meeting from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. READ MORE
