We extended the deadline for completing the Farm Evaluation and the Nitrogen Management Plan (NMP). The two regulatory requirements were due March 1. However, the Central Valley Water Board allows us the discretion to make adjustments as long as we meet our regulatory reporting requirements for the Farm Evaluation. The NMP is not accessible by the CRC and remains on your farm.
Our records show a specific number of acres have not been reported, so we will extend the deadline for one hundred percent compliance with the Central Valley Water Board. We will follow-up with another mailer in addition to this notice. You know you have met compliance when you can “Download Final PDF Report” from the summary page of the web-based templates. We will close the site once we can account for the total planted acres.
The Farm Evaluation needs to be completed before moving to the previous year Nitrogen Management Plan (NMP). The NMP is divided into two portions: the Previous Year NMP tied to the Farm Evaluation for reporting purposes from the past year, and the Current Year NMP, which serves as a nitrogen application planning tool. The Previous Year NMP is to provide a record of actual nitrogen applied in the 2015 planting season. The Current Year portion helps you plan your nitrogen application based on last year’s input and certain planned growing practices (acreage, rice variety…). The NMP template is not complete until both portions have been filled out, saved, and printed for your records. You can access the Current Year portion from the Previous Year summary page, as shown below.
We realize you will not know your current year NMP information at this time. The current year NMP is a rough estimate that you can change next year, since the information remains in your files.
