Farm to Fork Festival to include a strong California Rice focus

Farm to Fork Festival to include a strong California Rice focus

Up to 45,000 people are expected on Sacramento’s Capitol Mall for the third annual Farm to Fork Festival on Saturday, September 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

We will again operate a California Rice Booth, complete with our latest infographics and publications that provide important information to consumers such as our economic and environmental benefits as well as water use efficiency. We will also be providing wooden spoons, which provide a visual reminder of the five-inch average water depth in rice fields during the growing season. In addition, we will be prepared for face-to-face dialogue with consumers who often have questions about our crop.

Another important opportunity is the California Rice demonstration at 11:15. We are fortunate to have Mikuni’s Taro Arai rolling sushi and talking about their strong connection with California Rice. In addition, the demonstration will have two media emcees – Rob Stewart of the PBS Show Rob on the Road and Lisa Gonzales, anchor for KCRA 3 Reports.
