Joe Outlaw at CRC Farm Bill Workshop February 12

The CRC will host a Farm Bill workshop on Thursday February 12, 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Bonanza Inn at 1001 Clark Ave, Yuba City. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Joe Outlaw is widely seen as the expert on the rice program. During the development of the Farm Bill the Agriculture & Food Policy Center at Texas A&M, which he co-directs, consulted extensively with Congress and the U.S. rice industry. In addition, the center has created a very useful decision tool for growers as they evaluate which program – Price Loss Coverage (PLC) or Ag Risk Coverage (ARC) –best fits their needs.

Joe will review the decision tool and discuss which factors growers in California should consider when electing a program for the next five years.

The presentation will be videotaped and posted on CalRiceNews.org for those unable to attend.
