The fourth year of drought will continue to pressure the amount of water available for farms in our region. In response, we continue our joint communications work with the Northern California Water Association to convey to Legislators, media and other key audiences the value of agriculture for our economy, environment and small towns.
Next month, we are scheduled to unveil our new website, SacramentoValley.org, which will signal an important addition to our comprehensive communications program. The site will feature blogs, photos and videos from a network of contributors throughout the valley, covering subjects from fishing in the Lower Sacramento River to ranching in the foothills. This site is in addition to Sacramento Valley Water pages on Facebook and Twitter. The Facebook Page has seen a six fold increase in audience since we increased our management role, now reaching an estimated 1.2 million people a year. Our Twitter Page has jumped five fold during the same time frame, with a pace to reach about 400,000 people annually.
